Simply irritating

Moon
Stars
Sun
How I wonder could be in between
Stars supposed to stay with the moon
But then too weak to hold back the sunlight
How could the sun's so strong that the stars couldn't leave?
How could the moon just show up at night to the rescue?
And oh how could you be so stupid for just having the light from the moon and the sun?
